Let us take some of the hassles away or at least provide you with a jumping-off point. Is your belly rumbling? Yes, we're talking about food, just not the type you want to eat. Here are 8 Tips for Feeding Cannabis Plants.

Go with quality from the start:

Use a suitable quality type if growing with soil. It's no good growing with bad stuff. You get out what you put in, starting with the base. Provide a good foundation of essential nutrients for your plants. Begin with a high-quality, nutrient-rich soil mix.

What do your plants need?

What a cannabis plant needs changes depending on its growth stage. Look for nutrient companies that offer products that focus on specific stages. Speaking of which.

Choose the proper nutrients:

Choosing the right nutrients is like picking the best cannabis seed. There is so much from which to choose. It is best to decide what type of nutrients you will use. Do you want to go organic and stay natural? Or do you want to boost your plants with as many PEDs' as they can take? Whatever you decide, make sure you follow nutrient schedules designed for the different growth stages of cannabis plants if you want any chance of healthy plants.

Follow the schedules (and sometimes adjust):

Following the feeding schedules is crucial. Most nutrient brands will provide specific feeding charts for growers to follow. These are usually good tools and should be used. However, your plants may require adjustments to the feeding schedule. Things like environmental factors and changes to your plant's health might cause you to make adjustments.

Don't overfeed:

Plants don't get fat if they overfeed like people do. However, they suffer a few problems that could hamper your crop if overfed. Too much feeding can lead to things like nutrient burn, nutrient lockout, or other issues. Problems can be avoided by following the feeding schedules. Or you can start with a little and increase gradually according to how the plant responds.

Check the pH levels:

Proper pH levels in the root zone are crucial for nutrient uptake. Cannabis plants prefer a slightly acidic pH range between 6.0 and 7.0. Use pH meters or pH testing kits to monitor and adjust the pH of your nutrient solution or soil.

Flushing:

Flushing plants is done two weeks before harvest, but flushing your plants throughout can help remove excess salts and nutrients from the soil. This prevents nutrients from building up and becoming toxic.

Perform a plant health check:

Suppose you're not getting the feeding right. In that case, there might be signs of nutrient deficiencies or excesses, such as yellowing leaves, leaf curling, or stunted growth. Regularly check your plant for these signs and, as mentioned, adjust the feeding schedule accordingly.
