You might know how those Master painters changed the art world. Similarly, do you know how Master cannabis breeders like Ben Dronkers of Sensi Seeds and Arjan Roskam of Greenhouse Seeds changed the cannabis world?
The two of them alone are responsible for up to 1000 cannabis strains. Both travelled extensively and filled their pockets with the rarest landraces and genetics from all over the world, returned home and made their masterpieces. Like the Dutch Masters that painted chef-d'oeuvre in a time gone by, breeders like Dronkers and Roskam bred cannabis strains in another glorious era. The cannabis landscape is almost unrecognisable to what it was when they started, and these two, in particular, played their part in painting the picture.

Beginnings - Sensi Connoisseurs Club
We all have to start somewhere, and after years of travel and research, Ben Dronkers, with his eldest son, founded an exclusive club that changed the cannabis world. Sensi Seeds Club, also known as Sensi Connoisseurs Club, was founded in 1985.
During the following years and long before you could buy cannabis seeds online, Ben started selling seeds in the Sensi Seeds shop in collaboration with 'The Seedbank' and working on soon to be famous Sensi hybrid creations such as Skunk #1 and Northern Lights.
Not only cannabis seeds - Hempflax
Ben Dronker's wanted to do more than sell cannabis seeds. Dronkers wanted to champion the benefits of cannabis and hemp to the biggest audience possible. To do this, he had two projects in particular. He set up a sister company called Hempflax and expanded The Hash Marijuana and Hemp Museum. Hempflax was groundbreaking in its methods and quickly changed industry standards by developing new processing methods and purpose-built equipment for hemp cultivation.

The Hash Marijuana and Hemp Museums are iconic tourist spots for those passionate about cannabis culture. The original opened in Amsterdam to share knowledge and educate people about the benefits of cannabis. It started with a few exclusive pieces from Dronker's collection and now has two locations, housing 1100 items in Amsterdam and 1300 in Barcelona.
2020's
There are a growing number of countries legalising cannabis but without the work of Sensi Seeds and people like Ben Dronkers that might not be happening. Present-day and Sensi Seeds has multiple locations, is a mainstay on the cannabis expo circuit, has countless cannabis awards and achievements and over 500 cannabis strains.
