Who is Exotic Genetix?
Exotic Genetix is a US cannabis genetics company that has been breeding original hybrid cannabis seeds since the company's inception in 2008. Respected by the industry, peers and customers, the cannabis seed company has enjoyed a lot of success by winning 50 awards. Founded by Mike, Exotic Genetix began with Mike working in a local hydroponics shop in Tacoma, Washington. With the legal cultivation of medical cannabis still in its infancy, Mike would donate his time to medical grows in exchange for equipment at his hydroponics shop.
Over time, Mike would encounter the same faces and same medical growing problems. Due to the poor quality of cannabis seeds available – it was illegal to import cannabis seeds – the majority of growers would start from a clone. At the time, most of the clones on the market were rife with bugs, mildew and disease. Increasingly frustrated by this cycle of disappointed growers and poor quality cannabis, Mike set up a small tent and attempted his first breeding project. He thought that if he could provide a clean set of cannabis seeds and the growers started with a clean grow room, the cannabis grown would be better quality and much healthier. The first attempt was a success, and Mike was soon giving his cannabis seeds to the customers of his hydroponics shop.
Exotic Genetix's first cannabis strains
The early strains proved popular within the local cannabis community, so much so that demand soon outstripped supply. Anytime a customer of the hydroponics shop asked for a bug spray or advice on how to deal with mildew, Mike would hand them some of his seeds and advise them to clean and restart. Almost everyone followed Mike's advice and enjoyed a successful cycle and harvest. The success of his early cannabis breeding forced Mike to create new projects that he thought would benefit the community. The first three strains created that became Exotic Genetix were Supernatural, Essence and Furple. The 'fire was started' Supernatural won Exotic Genetix its first award when it took 2nd place at Seattle's first ever cannabis cup.
Exotic Genetix: Best of the Best
What started as an interest became a passion and a determination to find the best of the best cannabis genetics. Exotic Genetix constantly strives to find the biggest, frostiest, dankest smelling flowers and, to quote the founder himself, 'an undying passion for greatness'. Truffle Monkey
Truffle Monkey is a 70/30% Sativa dominant cannabis strain and the offspring of Tropical Truffle and Exotic Genetix 2020 signature Grease Monkey. Truffle Monkey is ideal for multi-topped grows that increase yield but will maintain a Sativa structure, growing medium to tall and producing small and compact frosty nuggets. Each Truffle Monkey phenotype is unique and carries individual flavour accents, but this strain tends to have gassy, diesel-like tones with hints of sweet candy. Evidence and advice test growers suggest not to overtrain the plant and put it under excess pressure, or you will face plant stability issues in the last weeks of the cycle. And that if treated well, it is relatively easy to grow. One apprentice grower reported 200gms from one plant.

Funky Charms
Funky Charms is the fated offspring of two of Exotics' signature strains of recent years. Grease Monkey and Rainbow Chip. There has been a lot of impressive work done with these two strains, so we have good reason to be excited about Funky Charms, which is available as regular and feminized cannabis seeds.
Funky Charms is a 50/50 hybrid which grows medium to tall flowers in 56 -63 days. It is heavy yielding and has a THC content of over 20%. Much like Truffle Monkey, this one will perform well if grown using a multi-topped technique such as SOG. The flowers will be fluffy but compact and hold a lime and fern green colour. The flowers covered in trichomes and pistils, once consumed, taste like diesel and sage with hints of citrus and mint.

Wet Betty
Wet Betty is a super strong 60/40% Indica hybrid with an exceptional terpene profile and bud structure that will produce dark flowers covered in trichomes and sticky resin that turn purple. When we say super strong - some lab reports have clocked almost 30% THC.
Wet Betty, like the others mentioned, has Grease Monkey as a parent, and because of that, it carries a diesel/Kush smell and a creamy, fruity flavour. This Indica hybrid has a cerebral Indica type high, but the plant is Sativa in appearance. Due to its low maintenance nature, it will perform well using SOG or any other multi-topped technique, growing medium to tall and yielding medium to heavy.
