La Bomba VS Pink Pie
Grow Report - La Bomba VS Pink Pie
On this page you can find a report of what we are growing in our shop. Currently we are growing the La Bomba cannabis seeds from Compound Genetics and Pink Pie cannabis seeds from Karma Genetics. Amsterdam Seed Center is one of the few places in Amsterdam which you can actually visit to see and smell cannabis growing. This is our Strain of the Shop and we offer this strain with a generous discount.

Week 5-6: Switch to Flower, Great Topping Recovery
Recovery & Progress
The plants have bounced back beautifully after the topping. La Bomba, which was slightly behind in early veg, has officially caught up. Thanks to strategic topping, gently bending the growth tips into the trellis, and a solid round of veg nutrients last week, we now have a lush, evenly filled canopy that’s ready to stretch.
Appearance of the Plants
The grow tent is full and thriving. Both strains have developed strong leaf structure, with rich green color and no signs of stress or deficiencies. The even height across the canopy suggests both genetics responded well to the training techniques, especially the low-stress bending and topping. The plants are standing tall and proud; looking uniform and happy.
Smell & Aromas
Still no noticeable aroma coming off the canopy, but that’s typical at this stage. With the switch to flowering just initiated, we expect that to change rapidly in the coming weeks as the plants begin to express more of their terpenes.
Expectations for the Weeks Ahead
This week marks the start of flowering. The stretch has just begun, so we anticipate explosive vertical growth and early floral development. The canopy is well-managed, so each plant has space to shine. We’ll be watching for early pistils, continued strong health, and the first real hints of those signature scents to begin filling the tent.
We're Keeping an Eye On
- Canopy height and stretch rate
- Early signs of flower development
- Stability of the even canopy
- First hints of aroma
- Continued nutrient response and leaf health
Week Summary
A strong turnaround week for both strains. La Bomba has matched Pink Pie’s pace, and the setup is in prime shape for flower. A perfect example of what good training and patience can achieve in early veg. Let’s see what they do now that the lights have flipped.
Week 4: Trellis Time and Topping Recovery

Expectations: The Weeks Ahead
We're keeping an eye on:
- Internodal distance after topping
- Vigorous vs slow phenos
- Leaf texture and health
- Early aroma profile
- Canopy response to the trellis

Week Summary
Week 1 – Germination & Early Seedling Stage
Strains: Pink Pie (Karma Genetics) vs La Bomba (Compound Genetics)
Germination
We’re off to a great start. Both strains germinated with 100% success, and every seed has transitioned into a healthy plant. No duds, no issues; exactly how you want a grow to begin.
Plant Appearance
By the end of Week 1, both Pink Pie and La Bomba are developing very similarly. Leaf size, posture, and overall structure are nearly identical across the two cultivars. All plants are standing tall with strong early growth, showing well-formed cotyledons and the first sets of true leaves coming in healthy and green.
At this stage, there’s no major difference in growth rate or visual characteristics; both strains are tracking evenly and showing uniform vigor.
Expectations for Week 2
With germination behind us and seedlings now established, we’re expecting visible daily growth next week. By the end of Week 2, we should be seeing 2–3 full sets of true leaves and early signs of structure. If things continue like this, early transplanting or light training prep could follow shortly after.
Overall, a clean and promising start to the run. Nothing flashy yet; just dialed-in conditions and stable genetics doing their job.
