Week 13 – It's looking good, smelling better!

Appearance of the Plants

We’re entering the final stretch, and the tent looks like a rainbow jungle. Pink Pie is stealing the show with bold purple hues all over her frosty colas, while La Bomba is staying greener, though showing some late-flower yellowing in the leaves. That’s likely just the last bit of nutrient fade — nothing to worry about, as the buds themselves look fat, happy, and untouched. Both plants are absolutely coated in trichomes and visually ready for the chop.

Smell & Aromas

The aroma is intense now. Every time we unzip the tent, we’re hit with a wall of scent — sweet, spicy, and incredibly loud. Pink Pie leans candy-like and fruity, while La Bomba has more gassy, deep notes with a sweet twist. This is one of those grows where the nose alone tells you it's almost time.

Expectations for the Week Ahead

It’s nearly harvest time. Pistils are darkening, trichomes are mostly cloudy with some amber showing up, and the room feels sticky just standing in it. We’ll start checking the trichs more closely each day and flush as needed, but all signs point to harvesting within the next few days.

We're Keeping an Eye On

  • Final trichome color shifts
  • Aroma peaks
  • Bud firmness and swelling
  • Fade progression (especially on La Bomba)
  • Dry tent setup for upcoming harvest

Week Summary

Colorful, frosty, and smelling amazing — both Pink Pie and La Bomba are ending on a high note. While Pink Pie brings the eye candy, La Bomba’s dense buds and resin output are equally impressive. A few more days and we’ll be clipping these beauties down. This week is all about watching, waiting, and getting scissors ready.

Week 11 – Ready for the Final Stages..

Appearance of the Plants

The canopy is dense, frosty, and incredibly uniform. Both Pink Pie and La Bomba are holding up with strong, stocky structure and very little spacing between nodes. Buds are stacking thick, especially around the mid-branches, with dense clusters forming everywhere. Pink Pie is starting to show her signature shades — soft purple tones now creeping through some of the upper leaves and calyxes, giving her a colorful edge. La Bomba, however, is keeping things classic with bright green flowers and fierce resin production that’s hard to ignore. Both strains are at full tilt — not a single weak branch in sight.

Smell & Aromas

The tent is now rich with competing aromas. Pink Pie is loud and sweet — think candy-coated berries with a creamy undertone. It’s that signature Karma terpenes experience starting to push through. La Bomba brings a different punch: heavier, more gassy, and deep with that sour-cake twist. The contrast is clear, but neither one is holding back. Every time the door unzips, you're hit with a mix of candy and fuel. It's already impressive — and we still have time to go.

Expectations for the Weeks Ahead

We’re right in the middle of full flower development. With the stacking and resin production already looking this strong, we expect a serious final swell in the next two weeks. Trichomes should continue to thicken, and terpene expression will likely peak. We'll keep feeding and monitoring closely — no big changes now, just focused support to carry them across the finish line.

We're Keeping an Eye On

  • • Bud swelling and weight gain
    • Aroma intensity and evolution
    • Trichome clarity and coverage
    • Leaf color and fade patterns
    • Overall plant posture and support

Week Summary

Both strains are neck-and-neck in this grow-off. Buds are dense, leaves are healthy, and the aroma game is strong. Pink Pie is stealing glances with those subtle purples, while La Bomba counters with pure, sticky aggression. The balance in this tent is perfect right now — if they finish as strong as they’ve started, this harvest could be something special.

Week 10 – Heavy Bud Set Begins

Appearance of the Plants

Both strains have officially shifted into full flower mode. The stretching has stopped, leaving behind a well-filled canopy with clear signs of successful training and topping. Bud sites are stacking up across every branch, calyxes are swelling, and trichome production has begun. The leaves remain a healthy, deep green, with no signs of deficiencies or stress. It's a balanced grow space, and both Pink Pie and La Bomba are thriving evenly.

Smell and Aromas

The first wave of aroma is finally making itself known. It’s still early in development, but the scent is beginning to build with a sweet, slightly funky edge. The terpenes are just warming up, and we expect a much louder profile in the coming weeks as the flowers fatten and mature.

Expectations: The Weeks Ahead

Now that flower is fully underway, we’re entering the most exciting phase. We expect the buds to bulk up considerably in the next 1–2 weeks, and the trichome production to ramp up alongside the scent. The uniform canopy should allow consistent light penetration, which will help with even bud formation across all plants.

We're keeping an eye on:

  • Bud stacking and density
  • Trichome development and coverage
  • Progression of aroma and terpene sharpness
  • Stability of color and leaf health
  • Week Summary

Week 10 marks a solid milestone: the stretch is over, the structure is set, and the plants are focusing all energy into flower development. Pistils are abundant, resin is forming, and the first hints of that signature scent are in the air. With everything dialed in, this grow is on track for a flavorful and frosty finish.

Week 8 – Full Bloom Begins

Recovery and Flowering Progress

After a solid couple of weeks of recovery and transition, both Pink Pie and La Bomba are now fully in flowering mode. The stretch has been real — explosive vertical growth has pushed the canopy higher, but thanks to the earlier topping and trellising, everything remains nice and controlled. The La Bomba that was falling behind has caught up entirely, leaving us with a full, even canopy. Leaf health is spot on, rich green and healthy across the board.

Flower Sites & Trichome Development

Pistils are now clearly visible throughout the canopy, with flower sites stacking up nicely across all tops. We’ve also spotted the first signs of trichome production, giving the leaves and bud sites a frosty sheen under the lights. It’s still early, but the signs are promising. Expect sticky fingers soon.

Aroma

Still subtle, but a slight scent is starting to build. Nothing intense yet, but the tent is definitely no longer smell-free. As we move deeper into flower, we’re expecting the terp profiles to really start popping.

Looking Ahead

The coming weeks will be all about bud development and resin production. We’ll be watching the stretch wrap up, pistil maturity, and the transition from early flower to full-on bloom. Nutrients will be adjusted accordingly to support the flowering stage.

Week 5-6: Switch to Flower, Great Topping Recovery

Recovery & Progress

The plants have bounced back beautifully after the topping. La Bomba, which was slightly behind in early veg, has officially caught up. Thanks to strategic topping, gently bending the growth tips into the trellis, and a solid round of veg nutrients last week, we now have a lush, evenly filled canopy that’s ready to stretch.

Appearance of the Plants

The grow tent is full and thriving. Both strains have developed strong leaf structure, with rich green color and no signs of stress or deficiencies. The even height across the canopy suggests both genetics responded well to the training techniques, especially the low-stress bending and topping. The plants are standing tall and proud; looking uniform and happy.

Smell & Aromas

Still no noticeable aroma coming off the canopy, but that’s typical at this stage. With the switch to flowering just initiated, we expect that to change rapidly in the coming weeks as the plants begin to express more of their terpenes.

Expectations for the Weeks Ahead

This week marks the start of flowering. The stretch has just begun, so we anticipate explosive vertical growth and early floral development. The canopy is well-managed, so each plant has space to shine. We’ll be watching for early pistils, continued strong health, and the first real hints of those signature scents to begin filling the tent.

We're Keeping an Eye On

  • Canopy height and stretch rate
  • Early signs of flower development
  • Stability of the even canopy
  • First hints of aroma
  • Continued nutrient response and leaf health

Week Summary

A strong turnaround week for both strains. La Bomba has matched Pink Pie’s pace, and the setup is in prime shape for flower. A perfect example of what good training and patience can achieve in early veg. Let’s see what they do now that the lights have flipped.

Week 4: Trellis Time and Topping Recovery

This week brought a crucial change to the setup. The trellis net was installed to help guide and even out the canopy after topping. Most plants handled the topping well and are showing strong signs of recovery, with fresh vertical shoots reaching confidently toward the light.

Appearance of the Plants

Pink Pie is really stretching out now. One of the Pink Pie phenos in particular is surging ahead of the others with noticeable vertical growth, giving early signs that she might become the canopy leader. Her structure is lanky but healthy, with good node spacing. La Bomba, on the other hand, is more balanced overall, but one of the plants is noticeably behind in development. It’s shorter, with tighter internodes and a bit slower on the bounce-back from early growth stress, so we chose not to top that one this week.. hoping the energy redirect gives it a push forward.

Smell and Aromas

Still faint at this stage, but the tent has started giving off the first real hints of plant scent when opened. Pink Pie is beginning to show a sweet, fruity edge, while La Bomba has something deeper and more gassy trying to sneak through. Nothing strong yet, but it's building.

Expectations: The Weeks Ahead

Over the next week or two, we’re expecting explosive post-topping growth and better coverage across the trellis. The more vigorous Pink Pie may need some extra training to keep her from overtaking the others too early. Aroma development should also pick up, and we're eager to see how much of that signature terpene profile starts to reveal itself for both strains.

We're keeping an eye on:

  • Internodal distance after topping
  • Vigorous vs slow phenos
  • Leaf texture and health
  • Early aroma profile
  • Canopy response to the trellis

Week Summary

A solid bounce-back week. Pink Pie is showing more upward momentum, while La Bomba is staying steady and compact. Topping went well for most, and the trellis will help shape the growth in the coming days. With one La Bomba still lagging, we’ll watch closely to see if leaving her untopped gives her a chance to catch up. So far, the grow-off is getting more interesting by the day.

Week 3 – Growing up fast...

Appearance of the Plants

Both cultivars are progressing well through early veg, with steady upward growth and leaf development. Pink Pie is showing slightly more vertical stretch, with a bit more spacing between nodes. La Bomba is a touch more compact and bushier in profile, but both are thriving and showing good symmetry. The leaf health across all plants is solid — deep green, with no visible deficiencies or stress signs. Internodal distance is tight but balanced on both, setting up strong branch structure as we head into the next weeks.

Smell and Aromas

Still early, but we’re beginning to get the first faint hints of aroma when brushing past the leaves. Pink Pie has a subtle sweetness lingering in the air, while La Bomba leans more on the fresh, slightly sour side. No full-on funk yet, but the terpene engine is definitely warming up.

Expectations: The Weeks Ahead

Over the next 7 days we expect a boost in vertical growth and faster leaf expansion. Pink Pie may begin to pull ahead with stretch, while La Bomba will likely keep compact but robust. Light defoliation may start around week 4 depending on lower growth. Once the root zones are fully developed, we’ll see these really take off.

We’re keeping an eye on:

  • Internodal distance (especially Pink Pie’s stretch rate)
  • Any leaf edge curl or stress signs
  • Side-branching behavior and overall canopy development
  • Growth rate differences between the strains
  •

Week Summary

Overall, both strains are locked in and moving strong through early veg. Environmentals are dialed, and the genetics are responding just as expected. Pink Pie is slightly taller, La Bomba a little denser, but both are healthy, vibrant, and holding even momentum.

Week 1 – Germination & Early Seedling Stage

Strains: Pink Pie (Karma Genetics) vs La Bomba (Compound Genetics)

Germination

We’re off to a great start. Both strains germinated with 100% success, and every seed has transitioned into a healthy plant. No duds, no issues; exactly how you want a grow to begin.

Plant Appearance

By the end of Week 1, both Pink Pie and La Bomba are developing very similarly. Leaf size, posture, and overall structure are nearly identical across the two cultivars. All plants are standing tall with strong early growth, showing well-formed cotyledons and the first sets of true leaves coming in healthy and green.

At this stage, there’s no major difference in growth rate or visual characteristics; both strains are tracking evenly and showing uniform vigor.

Expectations for Week 2

With germination behind us and seedlings now established, we’re expecting visible daily growth next week. By the end of Week 2, we should be seeing 2–3 full sets of true leaves and early signs of structure. If things continue like this, early transplanting or light training prep could follow shortly after.

Overall, a clean and promising start to the run. Nothing flashy yet; just dialed-in conditions and stable genetics doing their job.
